Powering Places Together: The role of business in anchor partnerships

Across the UK, a growing wave of place-based partnerships is bringing together private, public and voluntary sector anchor organisations to tackle local challenges and build stronger, fairer economies.

These public-private collaborations are taking many forms - from local anchor networks involving businesses and chambers of commerce, to national programmes like Business in the Community’s Pride of Place Programme and the Living Wage Places campaign. Together, they are showing how coordinated action across sectors can unlock deeper impact for local communities.

This webinar - jointly hosted by the Health Anchors Learning Network (HALN) and Business in the Community (BITC) - will explore the potential of public-private anchor partnerships to drive local change.

We’ll hear about Bradford’s Pride of Place programme, supported by BITC, and then open up a roundtable conversation with practitioners and experts to unpack what it really takes to make this work - and the key enablers and challenges along the way.

Who should attend?

This webinar is for anyone interested in place-based, public-private collaboration to tackle local challenges and create thriving local communities, particularly:

  • Local authority staff and anchor network facilitators

  • Business leaders working locally

  • NHS anchor leads

  • VCSE and community partners

  • Policymakers
