Learning sets
Applications are now open for our 2026 learning set focused on anchor networks.
Following the success of the 2025/26 learning set for anchor networks, HALN is pleased to run this programme again across 2026/27 for a new cohort of anchor networks.
This upcoming learning set will feature a specific focus on supporting colleagues working within Mayoral Strategic Authorities in England who are either interested in or actively involved in coordinating or supporting anchor networks within their region. However we welcome registrations of interest from a wider range of organisations where there may be opportunities for shared learning.
This learning set will be delivered by HALN, with support from the West Midlands Combined Authority Mayoral Regions Programme team

The Learning Set is free to join and will be tailored to suit people at different stages in their anchor network journey:
The learning sessions run over 8 months, with 5 sessions in total (beginning in June)

Ahead of some sessions there will be a small amount of pre-reading or short activity (no more than 30 minutes)

By joining this Learning Set, Strategic Authorities can explore how anchor networks help align regional priorities, bring partners together across local boundaries, and combine collective assets to tackle system‑wide challenges (such as improving the wider social, economic and environmental determinants of health, addressing inequalities, and supporting local economic development).
Anchor networks also offer a practical way to advance key Strategic Authority priorities, including driving sustainable growth, strengthening local skills pipelines, boosting productivity, and creating more inclusive economic opportunities across their regions.

The Anchor Networks Learning Set has been developed to support people involved in leading or supporting anchor networks to deepen the reach and impact of these networks.
This group will be focused on offering dedicated space for peer learning for those coordinating or convening anchor networks, collectives or systems.
These learning groups will provide the opportunity to:Deepen your understanding of how anchor organisations and networks can improve health and address inequalities through their impact on the wider social, economic, and environmental determinants of poor health.
Benefit from expert input and peer learning in a supportive network of colleagues from across the UK, bringing both new perspectives and valuable insights to your practice.
Tackle real-world challenges through applying your learning to practical work and personal projects in your local authority or network.
Access a full suite of resources and learning tools from HALN, preparing you for success throughout each session.
