Developing a Community Wealth Building strategy

Developing a Community Wealth Building strategy: Lessons on what works from leaders in health and local government

Health Anchors Learning Network invites you to this upcoming online webinar to explore lessons from across the UK about how to develop a Community Wealth Building strategy that makes impact for local people.

This session will take place online (Zoom) and is open to all. Find out more about what will be covered below.

About the session

Community Wealth Building (CWB) is an approach to building a strong local economy by addressing how wealth is generated, circulated and distributed in a place. It is an approach that aims to address inequalities and benefit local communities through redirecting wealth into the local economy. Anchor organisations, like local authorities, NHS Trusts, and other large place-based organisations, play a vital role in bringing to life Community Wealth Building strategies.

The first steps for many anchor organisations are to develop a strategy, framework or plan for their Community Wealth Building work. In this interactive and informative webinar we will hear lessons from leading anchors, and those who are starting out, on how they have approached this, and their lessons learnt. There will also be an opportunity for you to connect with others and share your experiences and learning.

We will explore questions like:

  • What are the practical steps you can take when developing a Community Wealth Building strategy?

  • Who needs to be involved?

  • How do organisational and system level Community Wealth Building strategies differ?

What will I gain by attending?

Join us for an opportunity to:

  • Hear from real examples of anchor organisations working together across the UK to develop and implement their Community Wealth Building strategies

  • Reflect on your own approach, and take away practical tools to support you

  • Contribute to emerging learning about anchor approaches and strategies across the UK
