Partnership in Practice: Health Anchors and the civic and VCSE sector

This interactive online event showcased fantastic examples of cross-sector place-based partnerships with the aim of tackling local health inequalities.

‘Partnership in practice’ gave participants an opportunity to dive into how these successful partnerships have been implemented in practice, share and discuss other examples with anchor colleagues in breakout rooms, and hear an overview of the NHS policy landscape when it comes to voluntary and civic collaboration.

The free event was aimed at any colleagues working within or with NHS institutions, with a focus on developing and implementing anchor missions or collaborating with voluntary and civic groups to benefit their local community.

Speakers included:

  • Dr Hinnah Rafique of Generation Medics, a multi-award-winning social enterprise partnered with NHS England to offer advice on healthcare careers

  • Alison Roberts of Tower Hamlets CVS and Farah Duleh of Women’s Inclusive Team, two organisations that have collaboratively piloted a programme to better understand local health inequalities within Primary Care Networks.
